OTP credits are priced slightly above ordinary transactional traffic because they run on a dedicated high-priority bind rather than a shared one. Every slab below shows the base amount and the GST-inclusive total.

An OTP costs a little more than a transactional SMS for one reason: it is not sharing an operator bind with anybody's marketing campaign. That is what buys the sub-five-second target, and it is also why a provider quoting OTP at the same price as promotional traffic is almost certainly routing it through the same queue.
If you want a voice OTP fallback behind it — a call that reads the code aloud when the SMS is not verified — that is billed separately per connected call at the voice OTP rate. Only the fallbacks that actually connect are charged, so it costs you nothing on the users whose SMS arrived normally.

Why does OTP SMS cost more than transactional SMS?
Because it runs on a separate high-priority operator bind reserved for authentication traffic, rather than sharing a route with campaign traffic. That separation is what delivers the sub-five-second target; without it, your OTPs queue behind other customers' bulk campaigns.
What is the lowest OTP SMS rate?
Rs 0.16 per SMS excluding GST at the ten-lakh slab, and Rs 0.36 at five thousand. The GST-inclusive total for each slab is in the table above.
Is there an extra charge for the 2FA send-and-verify API?
No. The 2FA API carries no licence or per-call fee — you pay only for the messages it sends, at the OTP rate above. A user who verifies on the first code costs you exactly one SMS.
Do unused OTP credits expire?
They carry a one-year validity from the date of purchase. Since OTP volume is usually tied to signups rather than campaigns, most accounts top up in smaller, more frequent slabs than they would for promotional traffic.
