Short code price list in India
Short codes are priced annually, and the premium over a long code buys one thing: a five-digit number a customer can remember from an advertisement. Availability is confirmed with the operator before you are invoiced.
Every rate, slab by slab.
Per-unit rates are quoted excluding GST, as is standard in the industry. The column marked You pay is the real amount including 18% GST, worked out for each slab so you are not doing the arithmetic yourself.
| Plan | You pay (incl. GST) | Validity | Base amount | What is included |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shared short code | ₹6,844 | 1 year | ₹5,800 + GST | One keyword on a shared 5-digit number |
| Premium shared | ₹9,440 | 1 year | ₹8,000 + GST | Premium easy-recall number, one keyword |
| Dedicated short code | ₹18,408 | 1 year | ₹15,600 + GST | Whole 5-digit number reserved for you |
Incoming SMS is unlimited on all plans. Short-code availability is checked with the operator before we invoice you.
The part most rate cards leave out.
Whether this premium is worth paying comes down to where the number will appear. On a hoarding, in a radio spot, on packaging or in a newspaper, five digits get dialled and ten get forgotten — the recall difference will dwarf the price difference. If the number will only ever be tapped as a link in a digital message, a long code does the identical job for much less.
Premium easy-recall numbers are a scarce, operator-controlled resource and do not always exist when you want them. We check what is genuinely available and get the allocation confirmed before invoicing you, rather than taking payment against a number we then have to apologise for.

Pricing questions, no fine print.
How much does an SMS short code cost in India?
A shared short code with one keyword starts at Rs 5,800 a year plus GST, a premium easy-recall shared number is Rs 8,000, and a dedicated five-digit number reserved entirely for you is Rs 15,600 a year. GST-inclusive totals are in the table above.
Why is a short code more expensive than a long code?
Because five-digit numbers are a scarce operator-allocated resource and because they are worth more commercially — people remember them. The technical capability is the same as a long code.
Can I pay monthly instead of annually?
Short codes are allocated and billed annually by the operator, so the plans are yearly. If you need a shorter commitment, a shared long code can be taken for a month and is the better way to test a keyword campaign before committing to a short code.
What if the number I want is not available?
We check with the operator before invoicing you and come back with what genuinely exists. Premium recall numbers go quickly, so it is worth telling us early if a specific number matters to the campaign.
